"It's well-known that many couples have issues with playing WoW cataclysm Gold games," re-creation management professor at BYU Neil Lundberg said. "Particularly in the case of husbands who are avid gamers, it can have negative effects on their relationships."
In the case of couples which only one person played 75 % of the couples claimed that they had experienced a negative impact from gaming particularly through the disturbance of their sleep routines. The study notes that these couples faced problems like the fact that they spent lesser time spent together during group activities, and less serious discussions.
Incredibly, similar problems were observed in couples who played. In the group that reported poor marital satisfaction, disputes over gaming were reported as well as the disruption of the bedtime routines.
"It's not the game hours that matter," Lundberg said. "It's really what it does to the relationship--whether or not it creates conflict and quarrelling over the game."
Activision Blizzard posts $1 billion profit in 2011
It's not a surprise that WoW Cataclysm Classic was the most popular game in 2011. The day before, Activision Blizzard reported its annual earnings report for 2011 and the popularity in the popular first-person shooting series led to records of $1.08 billion, on revenue in the range of $4.76 billion. This is a substantial improvement from the year before, when the company's profits were $418 million from revenues in the range of $4.45 billion.
Modern Warfare 3 was a important factor in the bottom line of ActivisionBlizzard.
Activision Blizzard did not reveal specific sales figures on Modern Warfare 3, but it did highlight the game's social network, WoW Cataclysm Classic: Elite. At the time of writing the platform has 7 million registered users and more than 1.5 million sign up for the premium tier of $50.
It's not surprising that the company announced that a new installment of the WoW Cataclysm Classic franchise will be out in 2012. The company also announced that it was developing Elite 2.0, with details to be announced in the coming months.
It is also possible that Activision Blizzard's investment in the market for toys has paid dividends. The company named Skylanders Spyro's Adventure the No. number one WoW cataclysm Gold for sale game for children in 2011, and added the company sold over 20 million toy that were based on the Skylanders franchise. The company is planning to launch an additional installment in this series called Skylanders Giants, in 2012.
